Maritime Lobster Boil

The Gulf of St. Lawrence Lobster Season begins May first. Fishermen from Quebec, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI all get their traps out. Though fished (ie hunted for), the trapped lobsters are held in cages and released to market over time, ensuring a steady supply on the plate.  Canada fishes more lobster than it eats, so we export the excess.  Since November 2008 the foreign market has been soft, so right now the price is very attractive to the eater.

To celebrate the St. Lawrence Lobster, we have our annual Lobster Week May 24-28.  Come in for Lobster specials all week long, or join us for our Lobster Gala Dinner on Thursday May 26th.  Tickets are $65, and get you a seat in the Garden, with chowder, mussels, oysters and of course, the Lobster.  The cracking starts at 7 pm.  Reservations are a must.
