What’s on? Late May sees the Maryland Blue Crab, aka the Soft-Shelled Crab, coming off the wharf.  We’re dusting them in cornmeal and frying them up for you.  The Dirt Under the Nails Gand is foraging ramps (wild leeks) and fiddleheads for us out in the East of the province.  The R.O.D. Prince oyster off our own lease in PEI is showing very nicely at the moment – we’re still seeing some winter character on the oyster before it goes into reproductive mode with the warmer waters coming. Lameques from the Baie de Chaleur in NB have returned (an oyster so friendly you can almost shuck it with your mind) and the Shan Daph from Big Island in Pictou, NS continue to impress.  Planning for the 25th Annual Ontario Oyster Festival is underway (July 21 – Oysterstrong – Eatin’ Ain’t Cheatin’). And the Oyster Garden is wearing its spring colours, despite the recent frost’s best efforts to kill off the new plantings. So what a great time to join us at the House …

(Plus, Rodney will be making the annual pilgrimage to Toad Hall in early June, so the viewing window is closing.  At least until the leaves turn)
