Bringing a crew?

Our tradition is the Oyster Bar, but Maritime hospitality means we can’t resist a good party. Our private and semi-private group zones can accommodate up to 175 hungry guests at a time, and the neighbours are not known to complain about the noise. Ask us about customized menu options including non-seafood and vegan options to ensure there is something for everyone.

Please Note: Depending on the size of your group and location of your booking, the nature of our shared grub may prevent us from accommodating the request for separate bills. We can break it down into 2-3 smaller bills, but you must request this option from the crew member taking care of you.

Groups of 9-14 are welcome to order a la carte – larger groups require a pre-determined menu to help the kitchen to execute service.

Rodney’s reserves the right to charge groups for no-shows or last-minute cancellations or changes to your final numbers.

The Cuddy Room

The Cuddy Room is a great place to host an intimate dinner or event and can be completely segregated from the rest of restaurant.

Capacity: 10-20 guests

Privacy Level: Very High. Double doors can be shut to completely remove this area from the rest of the restaurant.

Includes: Wall-mounted tv for presentations, videos etc. (Please bring your own A/V hook-ups (VGA, S-VIDEO or HDMI) and the knowledge of how to connect it up with your laptop).

Highlights:

• Very private, a dedicated space in a private area of the oyster house
• Beautiful large claimed wood table table that can seat 10-18 comfortably. A side table can be brought in to accommodate a maximum of 24 people seated.
• Carries a requested minimum spend of $1000 and up to $1500 depending on time of week.

This area is not conducive to a cash bar.

Zone 2

This area is perfect if your group is in the 40-60 person range and you wish to have a private bar and seating for everyone. Zone 2 is located in the mid-section of our dining room, putting you in the heart of all the action.

Capacity: 40-52 guests seated, or up to 60 for a standing

Privacy Level: Low. This space can be booked exclusively, but other guests will have to be brought through your space from time to time in order to be seated in other areas of the oyster house.

Includes: The option of a private bar set-up for your exclusive use.

Highlights:

• A popular option for this zone is our famous oyster boat shucking station which can be set up to provide an interactive oyster shucking and slurping experience for your event.
• Flexible table setup: Larger tables can be arranged as follows: one table of 16, two tables of 6 and two tables of 8 = 44 seats. Smaller groups of tables as follows: five tables of 8, and two tables of 6 = 52 seats. A standing mix and mingle event can accommodate up to 60 guests.
• If you have a special seating arrangement in mind that is not mentioned, let us know, and we will try our best to accommodate.

This area is conducive to a cash bar, and carries a requested minimum spend of $6000-$10000 depending on the day.

Zone 3

Zone 3 is great if you want an area completely to your own that is still within the dining room of the restaurant. It works well for a mix and mingle event of 30-50 guests, or an event where you wish to have seating for everyone.

Capacity: 20-38 guests seated, or up to 50 guests standing.

Privacy Level: Medium. Although still part of our dining room, Zone 3 is located in the rear portion of the restaurant, and can be segregated from the rest of the oyster house via large, retractable sails.

Includes: Your guests can order from a private bar in addition to our regular beverages.

Highlights:

• Flexible Seating: Available Seating: One table of 12, two tables of 8, one table of 6 = 34 seats. Or, one table of 12, two tables of 8, one table of 6 and one table of 4 = 38 seats.
• If you have a special seating arrangement in mind that is not mentioned, let us know, and we will try our best to accommodate.
• Carries a requested minimum spend of $2200-$3500

This area is very conducive to a cash bar.

Zone 2 & 3

Kick off your party with a selection of cold food items, and later transform the table into to a warm dinner buffet.

Capacity: 45-100 guests seated, or 100-175 cocktail party.

Privacy Level: High. This area is exclusive to your group.

Includes: This zone features a long, buffet-style table in the centre of the room. This buffet table is used only during mix and mingle events and is the central focus of the space. Private double sided bar in the main room.

Highlights:

• Buffet, plated dinner, mix and mingle party, mix and mingle followed by a family-style dinner, this space can do it all.
• Peripheral seating can be set up on the exterior edges of the space if you wish to have seating for your guests.
• This area can accommodate a DJ, dance floor, “Oyster 101” sessions with our crew and exciting oyster shucking competitions with your guests.
• Flexible Seating: One table of 16, one table of 12, four tables of 8, and four tables of 6 = 76 seats. Additional seating can be rented for a nominal fee to increase available seating for up to 100 guests. If you have a special seating arrangement in mind that is not mentioned, let us know, and we will try our best to accommodate.

This area is conducive to a cash bar if required.

Requested minimum of $20000 depending on the day.

Book Out a Bar

East Bar

The casual atmosphere of this zone is great for a cocktail-style event where people order drinks from the bar and move around the space.

Capacity: 20-35 mix and mingle style, no seating.

Privacy Level: Low. You will be visible to other guests.

Includes: Main bar and oyster bed with servers and oyster shuckers on standby.

Highlights:

• For standing mix-and-mingle style events
• Proximity to the bar and oyster bed
• Central location in the oyster house
• Cash and carry bar service ok.
• Carries a requested minimum of $1500-$3500 inclusive.

West Bar

This is the larger of our two casual bar areas and is great for private, mix and mingle events. The bar is longer than the East Bar and features a wall of booths and bar tables with seating. This area works well for cocktail events or intimate buffet-style dinners.

Capacity: Up to 38 guests, seated. Up to 70 for a combined seating and mix and mingle space.

Privacy Level: High. You will not have any other restaurant guests walking through your reserved space.

Includes: Long bar with oyster bed, with servers and oyster shuckers on standby.

Highlights:

• Mixed Seating: 38 seats total including 12 bar stools at high-top bar tables and seating for up to 26 in booths along the length of the space.
• Other food stations can be set up along the length of the bar as well as on the bar tables (numbers permitting).
• Cash and carry bar service ok.
• Carries a requested minimum of $2200-$7000 inclusive.

Zone 2, 3 & East Bar

With seating for up to 96 guests and two separate bar areas, this is the largest area of the restaurant that you can reserve. Alternatively, it can hold a maximum of 175 guests as a standing, mix and mingle style event with no seating. You’ll have exclusive use of the East Bar and a double-sided bar in the main area of the space (Zones 2 and 3).

Capacity: 76-96 guests seated, or up to 175 guests standing

Privacy Level: High. This area is exclusive to your group.

Includes: Oysters are normally shucked behind the East Bar and presented in a large wooden ice basket. Various cold food stations can be set up along the bar for your guests to enjoy in addition to a long buffet-style table in the centre of Zone 2 (during mix and mingle style events only). Kick off your party with a selection of cold food items, and later transform the table into to a warm dinner buffet. Peripheral seating can be set up on the exterior edges of the space if you wish to have limited seating for your guests in this configuration.

Highlights:

• This area can accommodate a DJ, dance floor, “Oyster 101” sessions with our crew and exciting oyster shucking competitions with your guests.
• Flexible Seating: One table of 16, one table of 12, four tables of 8, and four tables of 6 = 76 seats. Additional seating can be rented for a nominal fee to increase available seating for up to 110 people. If you have a special seating arrangement in mind that is not mentioned, let us know, and we will try our best to accommodate.
• Carries a requested minimum of $9000 – $22000 inclusive.

Oyster Garden

Our beautiful outdoor area with lush floral arrangements, window boxes, creeping vines, reclaimed wooden tables and beams. The Oyster Garden can be booked exclusively for groups of 20–60 guests. If your party is less than 20 people, you will share the garden with other oyster lovers.

Capacity: 20-60 guests exclusively (shared space if fewer than 20 guests).

Privacy Level: Low/High. This area can be made exclusive to groups of 30+ guests

Includes: Wooden tables for 2, 4 and 6, large umbrellas for shade.

• Carries a requested minimum spend of $1200 – $5000 depending.
